I help people working in culturally diverse environments, whether domestic or international, whether in India , Japan, Europe or Indonesia and I specialise in preparing people to work in the China context.
The development of Cultural Intelligence is foundational to this work. Intercultural Tailored Solutions (ITS) is affiliated with the Cultural Intelligence Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. I am a CQ Certified Advanced professional, one of a select group of Cultural Intelligence (CQ) facilitators in Australia offering CQ (Cultural Intelligence) assessments, feedback reports and debriefing of the personalised reports.

South Australian Business Mission Delegate India, Indonesia and China
India is an amazing place and it was wonderful to join the South Australian delegation in 2016 to Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai and join a large group of South Australians developing business relationships with our Indian partners. It was particularly exciting to visit the State of Rajasthan, and get to know the beautiful people of our Sister State. I am so grateful for the warm welcome we received and look forward to returning it. The visit provided me with opportunity for greater cultural understanding and insights into how we can partner more effectively together.
Indonesia and China provided opportunity to further build people to people relationships. It was a thrill to build strong ties with the Bandung Culture and Tourism Department in Indonesia 2017 and to visit Jinan and Qingdao in South Australia's city State Shandong Province during the 2017 Government led mission there. This visit was just the start of strong and lasting warm ties of friendship in Shandong. Of course, the Port Adelaide Football match in Shanghai in 2017 and 2018 have been highlights and a wonderful way to engage in a business environment in the city.
And it will be happening again so do plan to join us. It's exciting and effective way to engage with our Chinese business friends and an opportunity to build an even stronger bridge for Chinese and South Australian businesses.
20 years overseas life and work
More than 20 years of China based experience across education, the arts and social services have provided rich insights. The majority of these years were spent in Hong Kong where I trained and mentored international, culturally diverse teams. These insights inform my practice to benefit clients during the intercultural coaching and training process.
Cantonese and Mandarin speaking
One of my key roles in Hong Kong was to assist with negotiations between Cantonese speaking management and English speaking teams.
Over those two decades, I also regularly co-convened art exhibitions in Hong Kong and Macau. I enjoy a great rapport with Chinese people and have gained a deep understanding of how Chinese and western cultures intersect. Apart from these years in Hong Kong, I have visited 11 Mainland Chinese cities. I continue to be a student of Mandarin and over recent years have spent a month each year at the Beijing Language and Culture University furthering understanding of the fascinating language and culture of China.
Working with Port Adelaide Football Club, ICEWaRM, The University of Adelaide, UniSA, TAFE SA and others
Since my return to Adelaide in 2011, I have worked with a number of Australian organisations helping their teams prepare for work and travel overseas. I work closely with the Port Adelaide Football Club and support industries such as wine, water, manufacturing and education.
I was invited by The University of Adelaide PCE to conduct a Chinese Language and Cultural Awareness Course - from a non-Chinese perspective - to prepare a group of faculty and students undertaking an educational exchange in Hong Kong then by UniSA to prepare New Colombo Plan students for their travels to India.
TAFE South Australia also invited me to facilitate a Cultural Awareness and Business Etiquette Course for Education Managers doing business with China and a Cultural Intelligence Development Course for Managers and Lecturers in the Health Team.
